Garment Care

Meherwa pieces may include delicate fabrics, embroidery and hand-applied details. Careful handling will help preserve the appearance and finish of your outfit.

Cleaning

• Always follow the care instructions provided with the individual product.
• Professional dry cleaning is recommended for embellished, formal and delicate garments unless the product label states otherwise.
• Do not machine wash or tumble dry delicate or embellished pieces.
• Ask the cleaner to protect embroidery, trims, tassels and other hand-applied details.

Pressing

• Use low heat and press from the reverse side where appropriate.
• Place a clean cotton cloth between the iron and delicate fabric or embroidery.
• Avoid direct heat on sequins, beads, metallic work and decorative trims.

Storage

• Store the garment clean, completely dry and away from direct sunlight or moisture.
• Use a breathable garment cover rather than sealed plastic for long-term storage.
• Support heavy garments properly and avoid placing pressure on embroidery.
• Store the dupatta and accessories separately when this helps prevent snagging.

Wear and handling

Avoid direct contact with perfume, deodorant, makeup, hairspray and jewellery that may stain or catch the fabric. Handle handcrafted details gently.
